The job in a nutshell

The Aegon NL Business Information Services (BIS) department provides the IT solutions to drive the Aegon strategy. We are implementing new technologies to implement our vision: “By providing fit for purpose information, we empower information consumers”. These information consumers are our , business clients, intermediaries, regulators and also internal employees.

The BIS data lake DevOps team is responsible for ingestion of data and publications of information. This team collects all relevant data into a data lake, publishes information for consumption in web and mobile apps through API’s and provides real-time data for prescriptive analytics. All this is based on cloud (AWS) technology using serverless architecture and CI/CD wherever possible.

We are searching for colleagues who are eager to make a difference in a complex IT environment, by providing innovative ideas and using new technology. Together with the team, Product Owner and the responsible Software Architect, you will work on this development

The data lake DevOps team needs a collaborative colleague that is eager to deep dive into innovative technology and is ready to start learning about sustaining the existing solution architecture, bringing the data lake platform to a higher maturity level.. As an expert developer, your opinion is highly appreciated. You will be coached by more senior Developers in order to become the desired professional expert.

This is your future position, because you like:

• Coding and script languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, PySpark, PowerShell and/or Bash;
• AWS, for example Cloud Formation, RDS Aurora, S3, Dynamo DB, Lambda, Glue;
• Using Continuous Integration and Delivery, with automated build, deployment and test processes;
• Design of the solution architecture;
• Combining innovation with simple and lean solutions;
• Security, encryption and process monitoring in a cloud environment
• Agile way of working.

And you fit these requirements:

• You finished, or are about to obtain, a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science, or other IT related study;
• You are ready to develop on a broad range of skills, but also willing to specialize in certain technical area’s;
• Ready to take on responsibility;
• You are full of ambition and energy, and want to contribute to the transformation of our company into a leading, customer-oriented organization in financial services.
• You recognize that working together well makes you and your team more powerful;
• Good communication and presentation skills, in writing, talking and presenting in English (Dutch is a big plus or willing to learn).

What will you be getting?

• You will be earning between €2800 and €3300 based on 38 hours a week.
